HISTORY OF THE QUEEN CITY VINTAGE & ANTIQUE MARKET

The Queen City Vintage & Antique Market (QCVAM) is a curated antique and vintage show based in Regina, Saskatchewan with a selection of over 40 vendors from across the prairies. The market is held Spring and Fall with a large variety of collections and décor styles for shoppers, from traditional antiques to Mid-Century Modern, Farmhouse, flea market, French Country, rustic, shabby chic, traditional or funky styles.

In addition to quality antiques, vintage and collectible items you will find vintage clothing, jewellery and accessories as well as up-cycled, hand-made, re-cycled and re-purposed items with a vintage theme. The Market was launched in 2019 by the organizers, Susie Hilton of Grace and Thyme Antiques & Susan Birley of Cathedral Drygoods Vintage & Antique.

Both women share a love of antiques and decided to try starting a market in Regina, building on the success of a previous one that had closed in 2013. With renewed popular interest in antiques and vintage shown in media such as Antiques Roadshow or Canadian Pickers and the large flea markets in the USA, they thought it would be successful in Regina. They investigated a number of possible venues and found the Caledonian Curling Club (the Callie Club), at 2225 Sandra Schmirler Way, provides the best space for the market, with plenty of parking and onsite food services. The first two markets were held in 2019 with just under twenty vendors. After being forced to postpone the market in 2020 due to Covid 19 regulations, they re-launched in 2022 and have been holding them every year since. As vintage, thrift and flea market shopping grows in popularity the markets attract more vendors each year, with greater variety.

In June 2024, they decided to try an additional venue in Indian Head, Saskatchewan which was held in conjunction with local celebrations.
